Mimi Guthrey is a graduate student pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Colorado Christian University, with an expected graduation date of December 2027. She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology with additional studies in biblical studies and sociology.

Mimi believes counseling should provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel genuinely seen and understood. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, respect, and authentic connection. She is especially passionate about helping clients navigate anxiety, stress, relationship concerns, life transitions, and personal growth while developing resilience and healthy coping skills.

Mimi’s path to counseling began with a desire to help others. After initially pursuing nursing, reflection and prayer led her toward caring for the mind and soul through the counseling profession. As a counselor-in-training, Mimi is committed to providing ethical, evidence-based care under the clinical supervision of Cheryl Butler, LPC-S.

Outside of the counseling room, Mimi loves being outdoors and is currently working toward becoming a USCG Captain with the goal of becoming a fishing guide in South Texas. She enjoys fishing, exploring the mountains, and spending time with family and friends. Her love of the outdoors also influences her appreciation for incorporating nature, balance, and connection into the therapeutic process.
